In September of 2010, Aviation Cinemas, Inc., took over the lease for the theatre and after a few months of additional renovations re-opened on December 9, 2010. On that day, the historic Texas Theatre on Jefferson Blvd. reopened its doors with a special party, featuring local Dallas notables like Mayor Tom Leppert. The packed event was also followed by a ribbon cutting.
